There wasn’t much sun yesterday. Wait, well that’s not exactly true – I suppose there’s always the same amount of sun, it just shows up more on some days. It didn’t show up a lot yesterday. It’s on those days that I try to create it for myself. I painted the bird in my own sun’s yellow, with a touch of blue, a hint clouds, and the promise of an open sky. And I felt good. I could see the sun. I could feel it.
As John Lennon said, “You may say I’m a dreamer…” — and it is true. And I pray, “I’m not the only one…” I know I’m not the only one. Because I see you out there. Smiling under gray skies, reaching out hands, being the sun, the light. And I give thanks for you. Every day.
The sun is shining over my shoulder. Not to give you a break in your shining duties, but to assure you, you’re not the only one.
